Up at dawn or quarter till two can’t figure out what to do Two bits, four bits six bits a peso All for going back to bed Stand up and say so. Or lay down and say so because one would look Silly standing up in bed sleeping So, I’m off to the races Have to get cleaned up can’t have any dirty faces. Rinse, spit, repeat feel like dancing on the ceiling But I just take a seat. Blowing rings of smoke as they do the hula out the window. I rush upstairs then down stairs I’m now ready to go to take that great leap then I realize it was all a dream I had fallen back asleep Up from the bed quick and hurry then I’m attacked by a hundred creatures
all small and furry There’s Bear-bear and Tally-boo Little Hammy-ham And Hossy-hoss too Rampon’ and runnin’ and having a blast And here comes Eby-rose finally awoke at last All come biting my ankles and each other too jumping and leaping howling woo-hoo! Then they all Stop with a sudden rush of air They all know the time has come To them it doesn’t seem fair I must be off now and the fun must stop because every bottom has a top. So I trudge off and start on my way but I’ll be back to romp and roll at the end of the day Randall Doyle Leonard
